Since I went to AGPC last Monday and got my AG gift certificate last Thurs I've been ordering like crazy! I had already locked up my credit card but my card number was saved in my account on the American Girl site so I've just been ordering stuff and using the code.
I would see a couple of things, order, use the code, order a couple more things, use the code, etc. etc. After today when I ordered the activity board on sale I told myself I had to stop this now and I can't afford to keep doing this!
So I took drastic measures: I deleted all my credit cards from the on-line database. So now I hope I can stop buying things-all things!
Is anyone else having impulse control problems with AG ordering lately?

....the whole month of December! HA! I do not know what to tell you as I would be "the blind leading the blind".
The best I know is if you can stay busy and stay of the computer. That cuts down on AG Online and Ebay useage. That helps me alot..but you see where I am now...mwahahahahahaaaa

Try very hard to forget your credit card number. I know that probably seems impossible, but I'm sure you can do it.

I had this problem all of last year!
I just have to tell myself "You do not need it all"
I have started sewing to make sure I can get a new outfit almost every weekend. They aren't as good as AG outfits, yet, but if I keep practicing I hope they will become masterpieces.
My husband threatened (jokingly) to put a child lock on the AG site. Perhaps this is something you could actually do.
Or just stick a post it note reminder on your computer.
Or set a goal: I can buy 1 new outfit, when the garage is clean. I can buy 1 new doll, when I drop 20 pounds. That way you can't do it until you reach the goal.

Or if you're me, you revive your direct selling business to try and feed your American Girl and Longaberger habits. . .not to mention the go-to-law-school habit, which costs about $25,000 a year . . .

Yes, I have been having problems too!! Ever since I got in the buying spree for Christmas, and now it is continuing.
However, most of my pre-Christmas purchases (after I bought Kit) were paid for with ebay selling $$. Then I sold Marisol and that gave me some more $$, but that's almost gone.
Sooooo--I'm about to list some more things and that should cover all the spending. I feel like that is a good system from me. If the paypal $ is gone, I'll stop spending I guess.

Sigh. Yes, I'm definitely having an AG impulse buy problem. And I have a love/hate relationship with eBay. I thought I had sold my extra Marisol for a reasonable BIN but then had to deal with a difficult buyer who didn't get the doll in time for Christmas (and filed a complaint with PayPal). Only to have the doll returned to me by the post office because she had moved. Weird! But then just now I impulsively did a BIN on Felicity's table and chairs for only $50 (plus very reasonable shipping). I need a parental control lock on the AG site and eBay!!

What's even worse is that most of the stuff I've ordered will probably end up in storage because I don't have the space for it! I have a giant storage tub in my apartment for all my AG stuff except for the dolls themselves which are proudly displayed on my shelf, each holding their bag or purse and their own doll.
I went many months without buying a thing so maybe I need to go through withdrawl. Luckily for me I haven't memorized that credit card number so I locked it up in a box I have that is kind of hard to open.
I hope to move in a few years to a bigger apartment and to set up a doll corner. I figured with the HSH activity board that is so cheap now I can work on setting up the little classroom I eventually want for my dolls. But I have to store most of my extra supplies away until then.
